Debbie and husband Kirby enjoy living in Port Norfolk and have made it their home since 1979. Debbie has served as treasurer and on many different committees of the Civic League over the past 23 years. Now serving as Park Committee Chairman, she has been the key player in making the Fountain Park improvements a reality.
She defines her major role as “taking care of family” and adds, "If you bungle raising your children, I don't think whatever else you do well matters very much." Her oldest son Peter is a senior at Christopher Newport University majoring in computer science and is captain of the sailing team. Her other son Jacob, a sophomore at Old Dominion University, is majoring in electrical engineering, is a member of the National Honor Society and is on the dean’s list.
Debbie is owner and proprietor of Cut’n Up Lawn Service. In her spare time she enjoys camping and boogie-boarding at Cape Hatteras NC, rollerblading at the boardwalk, riding rails-to-trails on her tandem bike with Kirby and puppy, Bertha, and kayaking to Lake Drummond.
Debbie feels her greatest accomplishment has been raising her two sons.
